Reflexology is a deep relaxing massage used to relieve tension and balance the body. It works on energy pathways similar to acupuncture and aims to relax and ease stress and tension while helping with general well-being.
Reflexology activates specific pressure points on the feet through a massage; it is based on the idea that particular reflex areas of the feet interact with our vital organs and the overall functioning of our bodies.
Conditions
Reflexology is indicated for stress-related symptoms, circulation, lymphatic drainage, migraine, arthritis, menopause, menstrual pain, back pain, sinus problems, hormonal imbalances, breathing disorders, digestive issues, and circulatory and back problems. It also supports at the emotional level, calming the nervous system and promoting serenity.
Reflexology Treatment
A reflexology session will require the client to lie down, remaining fully clothed; however, shoes and socks must be removed. The client must wash their feet before attending the treatment; a wet towel will be provided to refresh them before the massage starts.
Regardless of health condition, each session will focus on the entire pattern of a reflexology treatment and will carefully work on the area corresponding to the problem the client presents with.
A session will last 60 minutes.
First treatment
The first session will include a brief review of the client’s personal health history and will last for 60 minute, including a 35-minute massage.
Follow-up sessions
Provided the client doesn’t have any health concerns, Reflexology is used as a preventative healthcare option, then monthly treatments are recommended. On the other hand, if the client is going through a particularly stressful time and has health concerns and pain, then a treatment weekly or fortnightly would be considered more beneficial.
