What is Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient healing art that has been practiced in China and other Eastern countries for over 5,000 years. It involves the strategic placement of ultra-fine needles into specific points on the body to stimulate and balance the flow of energy.

Though it may seem counterintuitive, these tiny needles can have profound healing effects on the body and mind. Acupuncture takes a holistic approach to health and wellness - it sees the body, mind, and spirit as interconnected.

Acupuncture can provide relief for a wide range of conditions including chronic pain, migraines, arthritis, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, digestive issues, women's health concerns, and more. It is known to boost the immune system, reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and balance hormones.

The typical acupuncture session is relaxing and rejuvenating. As the needles are placed, you'll immediately feel a release of muscle tension. Many people describe an energizing yet calm sensation. Others feel uplifted, clear-headed, and deeply relaxed after a treatment.

Acupuncture is customized to each individual's needs. Your acupuncturist will take a detailed health history and make a personalized treatment plan to address your specific concerns. Sessions involve relaxing on a massage table while ultra-thin needles are gently placed at strategic points on the body for anywhere up to 60 minutes.

If you are looking for drug-free pain relief, want to reduce stress, or are trying to improve your overall health, acupuncture is worth considering. It is a safe, effective therapy that can help optimize wellness of body and mind. Give acupuncture a try - you may be amazed at how rejuvenated you feel after just one session.

TESTIMONIALS

I can honestly say without Stephanie's acupuncture and compassionate understanding following the death of my husband I would have been in a TRUELY bad state. I have had acupuncture for nearly 30 years having read that one of its main aims is to keep the body healthy rather than wait for problems to arise. After all we do have our machines serviced regularly in order to keep them running smoothly so why not treat our bodies with equal care?

S.T, Wantage

Acupuncture really helps with many symptoms of my MS. Fatigue is a major symptom which is eased by acupuncture. It appears to give me much more energy and I have been given several self help exercises to try to maintain my energy levels. Acupuncture has helped with many different areas of my body including nerve pain, sensory issues and bowel problems. Nerve pain-I often experience altered sensations in different parts of my body. These can either cause tremendous itching or shooting pains. Acupuncture seems to soothe these sensations allowing me to rest and will often take them away completely. Bowel problems. In the past few years I occasionally have sudden unexplained bowel incontinence. I feel this is one of the worst problems MS has caused due to severe embarrassment that could make me want to stay at home always. Acupuncture appears to strengthen my bowel and make me more confident that a bowel accident will not happen. My MS often produces diverse and unpredictable symptoms. I am so pleased that acupuncture is there to ease many symptoms and help me cope. I also value and enjoy the individual treatment that acupuncture brings.
