Nutritional
Therapy
Nutritional
Therapy uses a combination of good nutrition and carefully
targeted supplements to bring about a return to health.
Everyone
has different dietary needs based upon factors such as their own
individual make-up, nutritional deficiencies that may have
developed and toxic overload.
Nutritional Therapy aims to identify these dietary needs
and prescribe the necessary diet and supplements to cleanse,
rebalance and strengthen the body.
Without
good nutrition the body can never be truly healthy as nutrition
provides the building blocks for every part of the body and
every bodily function is dependent upon nutrients.
Nutritional Therapy can assist a wide range of conditions
such as
-
Food
cravings and allergies
-
Heartburn
and acid reflux
-
Hormone
imbalances including thyroid
-
Skin
conditions - acne, eczema
-
Heart
disease, blood pressure and cholesterol
-
Diabetes
-
Weight
loss and eating disorders
The
initial consultation looks at present and past diet, present
symptoms and past conditions and their treatment, as well as
lifestyle and family medical history.
From these findings the patient will be given a dietary
prescription together with a purpose directed supplement
programme if necessary.

Background
My initial interest in nutrition began in my early
twenties when I experienced a lot of digestive problems.
I then converted this interest into a career and
studied for over three years at The Kevala Centre for
Holistic Health in
Devon
.
After qualifying as a nutritional therapist in June
2006, I set up my practice What’s Eating You in
Lambourn, specialising in digestive disorders and
arthritis. I
also have particular experience with children who are
fussy eaters and am passionate about retraining parents
and children to eat well and enjoy food.
I
offer nutritional advice for a range of disorders
including:
-
Improved
digestion - including diarrhoea, bloating,
constipation and IBS
-
Children's
nutrition and fussy eating
-
Arthritis
-
Lack
of energy, fatigue, stress and depression
Philosophy
I believe that many people have forgotten what it feels
like to be really well and are constantly confused by
the ever changing scare stories in the media concerning
food and supplements.
I offer a balanced mental and physical approach
that supports many health issues and stress.
Food
is a pleasure and healthy eating should be easy, which
is what I aim to teach via consultations, tailor made
menus, accompanied shopping trips and one to one cookery
lessons.
I believe it is everyone’s right to feel the very best
they can and aim to support and educate people to
achieve optimum health, whilst enjoying food and life.
