McTimoney Chiropractic

Chiropractic is concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculo-skeletal system. The treatment works using spinal manipulation or adjustments.

McTimoney Chiropractic is a relatively gentle and holistic method of adjusting the bones in the body to maintain the correct alignment of the spine. Chiropractic care can relieve pain and discomfort, increase mobility and provide a route to better health. Chiropractors use only their hands to make adjustments and the key to the McTimoney approach is the speed and accuracy of the adjustments.

Chiropractic can help with a wide range of problems, including:

·        Back neck and shoulder problems

·        Joint, postural and muscular problems

·        Leg pain

·        Sports injuries

·        Headaches

Chiropractic is also a successful preventative therapy, and when used in this way can greatly improve bodily health and well being and many patients are now receiving maintenance care in order to prevent minor problems becoming greater. Chiropractors are also skilled at giving advice on posture, working, driving and sleeping positions and exercise.

Rachel Chandler
Rachel graduated from the McTimoney College in January 2010 and then worked as a graduate practitioner role at the college, which gave her the opportunity to treat a vast number of patients. Rachel has a clinic in Farnborough on her parents’ farm where she grew up, and is looking forward to joining the team at WNTC in January 2011 to offer chiropractic care to a wider variety of patients.

Rachel’s interest in chiropractic began after receiving care for back, leg and neck pain following sporting injuries and falls from horses. Rachel has participated in a variety of sports including athletics, cross-country running, hockey, horse riding and clay pigeon shooting and applies a mechanical knowledge of these sports to her practice with an approachable and positive attitude.

Rachel is a member of the McTimoney Chiropractic Association (MCA).

Before qualifying for my Diploma as a chiropractor in 1986 from the McTimoney College, I worked as a Scientific Officer in a research department in a large pharmaceutical company and qualified as an Associate of the Institute of Biology. Prior to that I worked in the University of Oxford Biochemistry and Zoology departments as a senior technician and studied for an HNC in Biochemistry.
