Life Coaching
What
is Life Coaching?
Life
coaching offers the individual an opportunity to benefit from a
number of different techniques that will equip them with the
knowledge and skills to be able to continue on their journey of
personal development. Life coaching is as much about considering
and working through any blockages or negative thought processes
as it is about setting and achieving goals. People who enter the
life coaching process will each have their own individual story,
so it can be difficult to estimate how long you may benefit from
engaging in life coaching. For some this may involve just one
session on a specific issue (rapid intervention), while for
others it may involve many sessions (holistic approach). As a
rough guide I would estimate an average engagement lasting for
around 4-5 sessions.
I
offer an initial half hour meeting for no charge. This will give
us both the opportunity to discuss what your needs are and how I
can help you.
How
does it work?
As a
life coach I have the knowledge and skills to successfully
apply, adapt and draw on a range of techniques. These include
neurolinguistic programming (NLP), cognitive behavioural therapy
(CBT), counselling and, of course, goal setting and goal
achievement, which are at the heart of life coaching. I would
not underestimate these techniques as standalone therapies or
treatments and would not claim to be a therapist in each of them
individually. I do, however, have the professional
qualifications and experience to be able to offer a combination
of the above in a flexible, creative and dynamic way to support
and empower the individual to identify and achieve their dreams.
