Hypnotherapy

What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is different from other therapies, it is drug free, there is no physical manipulation and the conscious mind with its anxious or analytical thoughts is bypassed.  

 

It is the conscious mind which can often hinder the success of other forms of psychological work, and beneficial results can often be achieved quickly with hypnosis.  Using hypnosis the therapist guides the client into a relaxed state enabling direct access to their subconscious mind.  

 

The subconscious is where our instinctive traits, patterns of behaviour and natural reactions are formed.  By using positive suggestion and imagery the therapist is able to focus on the behaviours that the client wishes to change.  

The therapy is individually focused and therefore significant, positive change can be introduced and maintained.

 

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is the bringing together of the conscious and subconscious minds. It is a safe, powerful technique creating a deeply relaxed state of the mind, body and emotions. It is also a perfectly natural state that we often go through in our everyday lives, i.e. whilst watching television, reading a book, or doing repeated tasks.  In this state of trance your subconscious mind becomes very receptive to beneficial suggestions, accepting directions to promote positive change.  

 

As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I utilise this relaxed state of mind to help you reach your true potential or change a behavioural pattern or habit.

 

Hypnotherapy is a proven natural and gentle way to treat all kinds of emotional, nervous or psychological problems.  It is also very beneficial for motivating people, whether for a sporting event or to succeed in personal or business life.

 

Is it Safe?

No-one can be hypnotized against their will and even when in trance people can still reject any of the suggestions given if they are not appropriate.  Below are just a few areas in which hypnotherapy can assist:

  • Stress and Depression
    Stress and anxiety related illnesses are at an all time high. Learning stress management techniques to relax is crucial for your mental and physical health and for your well being. Hypnotherapy is uniquely effective in solving anxiety problems and aiding relaxation, free from any harmful side effects in a safe and natural way. 

  • Fears and Phobias
    The origin of a phobia is usually associated with the emotions caused by a traumatic event. When any fear becomes a phobia it can be extremely debilitating and restricting.  Using Hypnotherapy phobias can be cured within three to five sessions.

  • Stop Smoking Therapy
    Smoking is one of the major causes of stress and anxiety, so that when you light a cigarette to ‘calm your nerves’ you are doing the exact opposite.  
    People who smoke throughout life are 80% more likely to suffer severe anxiety and clinical depression in middle age than non smokers.  
    The physical side of the addiction to smoking is less than 10%, the remainder is all in the mind - the subconscious mind where behaviour patterns are stored.  
    Smoking is not a conscious behaviour, which is why trying to stop with conscious willpower alone just is not enough.  
    Hypnotherapy can access the subconscious mind, suggest new perspectives on the habit and remove your desire for smoking completely and permanently in just one session.
